Arkham Horror: Final Hour
If you have followed me at all over the life of Dice at Dusk then you know how much I love Fantasy Flight's Arkham Horror games. When I heard that they are releasing a new one I had to look into it!
As I read through the description on the Fantasy Flight website I have to say it seemed like much of the same. You are investigators that have to stop the cult and you will be fighting monsters and finding clues to reverse the cultist ritual.....sound familiar? Based on this information I would not be buying this game, however there are two things that definitely changed my mind and here they are.

The clues. Like in other Arkham Horror games you and your team will be looking for clues. What makes this game stand out more to me is you are looking for specific clues that will help you deduce the final mystery. How it works is you will find clues in the form of shapes (as shown above). As you find more and more clues you will be able to eventually deduce the mystery. However, you will only have so much time before you have to make your best guess at the correct solution. Which leads me into my next point.
There is very little verbal communication on this game. Instead, the cards you play will have initiative and this is how you will tell your group the importance of your next action. This mechanism is one that I welcome.
I really look forward to playing this game, not only because I am a huge fan of Lovecraft's universe but also because of these new mechanisms.
