craft beer and board games
I was visiting a local craft beer brew house, Czig Meister brew house, and as I was polishing off my first flight of four well crafted beers, I thought that these people crafting these beers are much like the people that make board games. Craft beer and board games go well together not only because of the obvious reasons of both containing fun in a bottle or box but instead because of the passion and love of a hobby.
I myself love both a quality beer and board game and have spent countless hours both creating a game and also brewing my own beer. When finished you are able to take a step back and play or taste your creation and get a huge feeling of accomplishment. Although both my beer and games were not liked by others I felt like they were the best ever created.
Anyway, let's get back to the passion these people have. Both of these take a lot of time, tweaking and testing, this alone takes the passion it would take to become a professional athlete. Most everyone has started in these hobbies with a small "Mr. Beer" set or writing a few rules on a napkin, this is where the passion is born. You can easily become addicted to creating your game or beer, this is what it takes to make a final product that has quality that makes people love your product. This passion is why craft beer like the ones I recently consumed and games that are being created by the Jamey Stegmaier.
In conclusion, when you are going to the liquor store or stopping into you FLGS and you see Budweiser or the newest themed Monopoly game, maybe this time you will pick up the latest brew by Brooklyn Brewery or newest game by Keith Matejka.
