Solo Board Gaming
I have recently been spending a lot of time researching solo board games. During my investigation for my new solo game I have found that my opinion on this matter greatly differs from the vast majority. I decided to write this article to try and convince you all why I feel the way I do about solo board games.
While talking to others on social media or at my local board game store, I have heard a few different reasons why people dislike solo board games. The reason I would hear the most was that the whole reason people play board games is to get together with others and partake in conversations around a table. I do 100% whole heartily agree with this statement. If you have read the previous article that I wrote, "Why You Should Play Tabletop Games" then you know this is true. I specifically used this very reason on why we should play more board games. Having a game night a few nights a month is a great way to have a enjoyable time with friends and family while making new friends along the way. But what about the times when there is no one around?

I, like you am a huge board game fan and try and get one to the table a few nights a week. For me there is nothing like chucking dice and pushing cardboard and plastic bits around the table. I enjoy doing this even more than I do sitting in front of a television or monitor playing video games. In fact, I see no real difference between playing a solo campaign of Dark Souls in either video game or board game form. I will agree with you when you say setup time is much longer but most great things take time. I am always on the lookout for a game that has great solo play along with scaling for multiple players. So if you have no one around to play and you go to your friendly local game store and see tumbleweeds, then why not play solo.
OK, I will end my rant now. I wanted to write a short article about my thoughts on solo games. At the end of this article I will have a list of some of my favorite games to play solo. I hope I have convinced you solo gamer's that you are not alone and likewise you non believers that solo games can and are extremely fun. So get out there an game together or alone.
I hope you enjoyed this article. Share your solo adventures with us on social media!
